Is This You
Comprehensive pediatric dentistry is the exam, the cleaning and the conversation. It is where every other treatment on this site begins, and for most children it is all they ever need.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry has found that your child should visit the dentist within six months after the presence of the first tooth or by his or her first birthday.
Regular cleanings and exams can help prevent tooth decay, gum disease, and other oral health issues. Tooth decay has become the most common chronic childhood illness in the U.S.
We provide treatment in a fun, gentle, and relaxing environment. Infants and anxious toddlers are examined knee to knee, on your lap, and you stay in the room.
The Visit

Early oral examination aids in the detection of the initial stages of tooth decay. Early detection is also essential to maintaining good oral health.
During each visit, we will gently clean your child’s teeth and remove any plaque or tartar. We will carefully examine their mouth and teeth for any potential issues.
We will teach you and your child how to properly brush and floss their teeth as they grow. We will discuss dental hygiene habits and healthy food choices. We will teach your child to be our partner in keeping their mouth and teeth healthy.

Professional cleanings rid the teeth of harmful plaque and tartar build-up. This is important for preventing tooth decay, periodontal disease, and other oral health issues for your child. Additionally, a professional cleaning by our hygienist may remove some surface stains. This can help keep your child’s teeth looking whiter and brighter.
Why Here
Every pediatric practice does the exam and the cleaning. The difference is who does it, how young they will start, and what happens when a child is not sure about any of it.

Infants and anxious toddlers are examined knee to knee. Older children get the chair, the screen on the wall, and an explanation before anything happens.
Gentle plaque removal, polishing, fluoride application, and an oral exam to check teeth, gums, and bite development. X-rays only if necessary.

How to brush and floss at this age, what to do about bottles, pacifiers and snacks, and the answers to whatever you wrote down on the way in.
Anything the exam found, explained on the screen, with the price before you leave. Then the next six month visit goes in the diary.
A comprehensive exam, necessary X-rays and cleaning, plus a free fluoride treatment. Cannot be combined with insurance; new patients only.
