Drs. Sung and Nguyen have found that many children with special needs have unique dental care needs that require a flexible approach. Certain patients might have medication or dietary needs that can compromise their dental health. Other patients have difficulty maintaining good oral hygiene habits. We understand that some children might find it difficult to sit still for a dental examination.
What that means for the teeth
In some cases, special needs children have a higher risk of developing tooth decay, gum disease, tartar buildup, and oral trauma.

A visit whose only purpose is to see the room, meet the person, and leave. Sometimes several of them before anything is done.

And a quieter part of the day, when the waiting room is not full.

Can I stay with my child?
Yes! Parents are always welcome to accompany their child if it helps them feel more comfortable.
